ST BlowMoulding is the world leading manufacturer of extrusion-blow moulding machines with parison suction technique, not only in terms of machines delivered, but also for its undoubted technological leadership. These are the fruits of ceaseless research and development work over the past 15 years, in collaboration with the most demanding customers of the automotive industry.
Extrusion heads feature a specific design for engineering polymers used to produce under the hood 3D ducts (in particular for the air induction system of turbocharged engines). The exclusive 4WDS device for asymmetric radial control of parison thickness is exceptionally fast and precise in movement: a guarantee of unequalled wall thickness accuracy and quality consistency of the blow-moulded parts.
The sequential co-extrusion versions ASPI SeCo are used to generate a parison where two different plastic materials alternate according to a sequence defined in the mould recipe, and to obtain a blow moulded item with different mechanical characteristics along its axis. This is the ideal solution for 3D under the hood ducts, to cut the number of pieces being assembled and the consequent costs.
Customers who require higher production rate find the right answer to their need in the ASPI DUO: a mobile extrusion platform shuttles over two clamping units and drops the parison alternatively into each one of the two moulds. This is the perfect solution to double 3D duct production, coupling this performance with ease of use, quick set-up and process stability typical of single clamp machines.
The latest developments in ST BlowMoulding are aimed at production traceability, self-diagnostics and automatic process control. These are the objectives of devices such as the D-Print (a new generation parison marker, with both precision and speed 100 times above previous standards), the W-Print (to write data directly onto the parison and read it on the blow-moulded item) and the parison swell detector (an optical sensor to monitor the parison diameter).
With such cutting-edge technology, it comes as no surprise that the ASPI name has become synonymous with parison suction technology.
