The mould clamping unit with single cylinder and double tie-bar characterises the ISIT Series of extrusion-blow moulding machines.
The machine components that may flex while conveying the clamp force are independent from the plates to accommodate the mould, so ensuring perfect planarity and parallelism of the two half-moulds under any condition.
The mould changeovers are carried out from above: the upper platform that houses the extrusion head moves backwards and clears the area over the clamping unit. All movements are actuated by electrical motors and controlled by position transducers; this greatly eases the rapid and error free return of the extrusion head to the correct position memorised in the recipe of each mould.
For those requiring to cut mould change times even further, magnetic holding plates are available. In tandem with other devices like quick circuit connections, they make the operation easier, faster and safer.
The bottom-blow unit can be electrically setting of blowing nozzles and spreading adjusted in height. It can be easily moved all the way to a resting position in contact with either open half-mould, for simple and accurate devices.
Thanks to extruders with an unmatched melting efficiency (great throughput with low energy consumption) and to variable speed hydraulic pumps, the models of the ISIT Series are ranked in the highest category of merit for energy efficiency according to the Euromap 46.1 procedure for extrusion-blow moulding machines (class 10: less than 0.29 kWh/kg of HDPE).
