The continuous extrusion-blow moulding machines of the EC Series are the natural choice to produce multilayer items with high melt strength HDPE. In the ECT versions the parison is mechanically moved from the extrusion head into the mould, whereas in the ECS versions the mould clamping unit shuttles to the extrusion head to catch the parison. Both ECT and ECS versions are top of the range in continuous extrusion-blow moulding machines for industrial applications: high production rate and unmatchable accuracy.
The mould clamping unit features a single cylinder and a double tie-bar frame. The machine components that may flex while conveying the clamp force are independent from the plates to accommodate the mould, so ensuring perfect planarity and parallelism of the two half-moulds under any condition.
The mould changeovers are carried out from above: the upper platform that houses the extrusion head moves backwards and clears the area over the clamping unit. All movements are actuated by electrical motors and controlled by position transducers; this greatly eases the rapid and error free return of the extrusion head to the correct position memorised in the recipe of each mould.
The bottom-blow unit can be electrically adjusted in height. It can be easily moved all the way to a resting position in contact with either open half-mould, for simple and accurate setting of blowing nozzles and spreading devices.
Thanks to extruders with an unmatched melting efficiency (great throughput with low energy consumption) and to variable speed hydraulic pumps, the models of the EC Series are ranked in the highest category of merit for energy efficiency according to the Euromap 46.1 procedure for extrusion-blow moulding machines (class 10: less than 0.29 kWh/kg of HDPE).
When producing multi-layer plastic tanks for liquid fuels (not only for road vehicles, but also for many other combustion engines: motorbikes, lawnmowers, boats, snowmobiles, etc.), our partnership with the world leader W. Müller GmbH offers the most advanced multilayer co-extrusion technologies.
The PWDS®/SFDR devices for the radial control of parison thickness complete the technological offer of the EC Series: excellence choses excellence.
